About Us.

About Us.

We are a team of experienced sensor product developers and SHM and NDT experts, redefining structural inspection through smart, AI-driven sensor systems.

Our name Nirixense derives from the Sanskrit word nirīkṣaṇa (inspection) and sense, representing advanced sensor systems designed for precise observations and intelligent insights.

Born from the collaborative research of Prof. Siddharth Tallur and Prof. Sauvik Banerjee at IIT Bombay, we blend deep expertise with cutting-edge technology to drive meaningful change.

Mission.

Our mission is to develop smart sensor systems and solutions for inspection of structures to improve safety and integrity through actionable insights, by leveraging edge-intelligence and AI.

Vision

Our vision is to empower industries with intelligent technologies that improve productivity, system reliability, safety, and contribute to a more sustainable future globally.

Collaboration begins!

Siddharth Tallur and Sauvik Banerjee kick-started a research collaboration at IIT Bombay to develop smart sensor systems and solutions for structural inspection.

IMPRINT project awarded

Siddharth Tallur and Sauvik Banerjee received funding from IMPRINT-2A programme of DST/SERB with MHRD, and Sanrachana Structural Strengthening Pvt. Ltd. (industry partner). With this support, our team began working on the development of pulsed eddy current and ultrasonic sensor systems for concrete inspection.

Ankur joins IIT Bombay

Ankur Agarwal joined Wadhwani Electronics Lab (WEL) at IIT Bombay and led advanced prototype development of pulsed eddy current sensor system (code named iPEC).

First field testing of iPEC

We tested early prototype of CS 100 (project code name iPEC at IIT Bombay) in the field.

iPEC showcased at NDE 2023 and IInvenTiv 2024

iPEC is first showcased in exhibition floor of 33rd Annual Conference & Exhibition on Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE 2023), Pune, India, December 2023. iPEC was one of the projects shortlisted by IIT Bombay for exhibition at IInvenTiv 2024 at IIT Hyderabad, January 2024.

First field testing of pipeline SHM prototype

Our pipeline SHM prototype (based on ultrasonic guided waves) was field tested at IOCL R&D Facility, Faridabad, India. This work was supported by a grant from Centre of Excellence in Oil, Gas and Energy (CoE-OGE) at IIT Bombay.

Startup journey begins

Our team received funding from Society for Innovation and Enterprenureship (SINE), IIT Bombay through Institute of Eminence (IOE) cell, for launching a startup to take our technologies to market. Our technologies were also showcased and well-received at 34th Annual Conference & Exhibition on Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE 2024), Chennai, India in December 2024.

Nirixense is launched!

Nirixense Technologies is officially incorporated.

Winner in B2B category, Startup Maharathi Challenge 2025

Nirixense Technologies was declared a winner of the Startup Maharathi Challenge (B2B category) at Startup Mahakumbh 2025, New Delhi, India, April 2025.

6004 RBTIC, IIT Bombay

We moved into our new office in Rahul Bajaj Technology Innovation Centre (RBTIC), SINE, IIT Bombay!

Solutions exhibited at 2025 CSIR Startup Conclave, Mumbai

Our founders had the opportunity to talk about CS 100 and our other plans with many visitors and exhibitors at the 2025 CSIR Startup Conclave, Mumbai.

Pilot testing of CS 100 commences

We commenced pilot testing of CS 100 by handing out demo units (R&D prototypes).

Titanium grant and pre-seed funding

We were awarded the Titanium grant by SINE, IIT Bombay. The funding is coupled with a mentorship program that includes both technical and business guidance to effectively navigate the complexities of entrepreneurship. We also closed a pre-seed fundraising round with investment from Dr. Mangesh Joshi (MD and CEO, Sanrachana Structural Strengthening Pvt. Ltd.), Krishna Conchem Products Pvt. Ltd. and H. M. Raje Structural Consultants Pvt. Ltd.
