About Us.

About Nirixense.

We build intelligent sensor systems that simplify and improve structural inspection using AI and edge intelligence.

Just as wearable devices continuously monitor human health and medical diagnostics investigate specific conditions, our structural health monitoring (SHM) and nondestructive testing (NDT) solutions work together to holistically assess structural health before problems become critical.

Our name, Nirixense, comes from the Sanskrit word nirīkṣaṇa (“inspection”) and the word “sense.” Together, they reflect our sensors and solutions that deliver accurate data and clear insights.

Our Mission.

Create smart sensor systems for structural inspection. Using edge intelligence and AI, we turn data into insights that improve safety and reliability.

Our Vision.

Help industries work more efficiently and safely.
We aim to improve productivity and system reliability, to provide a sustainable future for all.

Our Story

Collaboration begins!

Siddharth Tallur and Sauvik Banerjee kick-started a research collaboration at IIT Bombay. Their goal: to develop smart sensor systems for structural inspection.

IMPRINT project awarded

The team received funding under the IMPRINT-2A programme of DST/SERB with MHRD support, along with industry partner Sanrachana Structural Strengthening Pvt. Ltd. This marked the start of work on pulsed eddy current and ultrasonic sensor systems for concrete inspection.

Ankur joins IIT Bombay

Ankur Agarwal joined the Wadhwani Electronics Lab (WEL) at IIT Bombay and led advanced prototype development of the pulsed eddy current sensor system, code-named iPEC.

First field testing of iPEC

We tested early prototype of ReX 100 (project iPEC) in the field.

iPEC showcased

iPEC made its debut at the 33rd Annual Conference & Exhibition on Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE 2023) in Pune. Shortly after, it was shortlisted by IIT Bombay for display at IInvenTiv 2024, hosted at IIT Hyderabad.

Pipeline SHM prototype tested

The first field test of our pipeline SHM prototype, based on ultrasonic guided waves, took place at IOCL R&D Facility, Faridabad. This project was supported by the Centre of Excellence in Oil, Gas and Energy (CoE-OGE) at IIT Bombay.

Startup journey begins

Our team received support from the Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SINE), IIT Bombay, through the Institute of Eminence (IOE) cell. This funding helped us prepare to launch a startup. Our work was also showcased at the 34th Annual Conference & Exhibition on Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE 2024) in Chennai.

Nirixense is launched!

Nirixense Technologies is officially incorporated.

Winner at Startup Maharathi Challenge 2025

Nirixense Technologies was declared a winner of the Startup Maharathi Challenge (B2B category) at Startup Mahakumbh 2025, New Delhi, India, April 2025.

New home at RBTIC, IIT Bombay

We moved into our new office in Rahul Bajaj Technology Innovation Centre (RBTIC), SINE, IIT Bombay!

Showcasing solutions

Our founders presented our product prototypes and shared future plans at the 2025 CSIR Startup Conclave in Mumbai.

Pilot testing of ReX 100 commences

We commenced pilot testing of ReX 100 by rolling out demo units (R&D prototypes).

Titanium grant and pre-seed funding

We were awarded the Titanium grant by SINE, IIT Bombay. The funding comes with a mentorship program that includes both technical and business guidance to effectively navigate the complexities of entrepreneurship. We also closed a pre-seed fundraising round with investments from Dr. Mangesh Joshi (MD and CEO, Sanrachana Structural Strengthening Pvt. Ltd.), Krishna Conchem Products Pvt. Ltd. and H. M. Raje Structural Consultants Pvt. Ltd.

ReX 100 and other products demonstrated at World of Concrete 2025

Our team showcased ReX 100 and sneak peek of other under-development products at World of Concrete 2025 in Mumbai. We received great interest from a lot of visitors, and are excited to deliver ReX 100 units in the next few weeks!

Rex 100 officially on sale!

We started deliveries for ReX 100 orders, bringing powerful performance to the concrete NDT market.

Larger space at RBTIC, IIT Bombay

We moved into a larger office in Rahul Bajaj Technology Innovation Centre (RBTIC), SINE, IIT Bombay! Our new office provides us much needed space as we grow our ReX 100 sales and embark on product development journey for our end to end SHM solutions.

First field testing of SHM PoC

Our team tested our under development SHM product proof of concept (PoC) at a bridge in Thane. Early learnings from our continuous testing are guiding our product design efforts.
